Meets the requirements for a Tasmanian general safety induction ‘White Card’





Course purpose:

To be able to perform any type of work on a construction site in Australia, you need to have done a General Safety Induction Course and hold a General Safety Induction Card. In Tasmania this is typically called a ‘White Card’ , and is obtained
through the completion of the unit CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.

Course requirements:

To be eligible for a Statement of Attainment for the unit CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry , you need to successfully complete all of the unit's tasks which have the assessments, and have paid your fees of $60.00.
Further details on the assessments, including the requirements in order to be able to complete the assessments, can be found under the tab 'Assessments'.

A participant has a twelve (12) month enrolment period to complete the unit.

Entry requirements:

There are no designated entry requirements for this course. However, you will need a sound working knowledge of basic maths and be able to read, write and understand standard English, similar to what is used in this information.

You will also need access to a computer which has, or on which you are able to install, a web-cam.

Assessments:

Participants will be required to complete a range of assessments, including:
1. Computer marked questions: true/false, multi-choice, multi-answer, click-the-image, click-in-order, fill-in-the-blanks, etc.
2. Video responses: complete a video response to a question/s in our e-learning system and submit for assessing. This includes making a video recording of you demonstrating certain PPE items.

You will need access to the following PPE items:
1. A hard hat
2. Safety glasses
3. High vis clothing (jacket/shirt, jumper, etc)
4. Ear plugs/muffs.


You WILL NEED to demonstrate ALL of the above PPE items. Most/all of these items are also usually required to be able to access a building site.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also available. This will require the completion of a logbook by uploading of evidence, the completion of a skills history document and an online interview which will be recorded, etc. If you wish to apply for an RPL please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
